Are you really ready?

If I asked “how many people believe that God is coming back soon?” A lot of people would raise their hands.

If I asked “if you looked at your life today would you be ready when he comes back?”.

Honestly, that is a scary question. Why is it scary you may ask? It’s scary because a lot of people think that their destination is heaven but it is not.

We have to evaluate ourselves from the way we think, the things we do, how we treat people, what we say, and etc. We may say God please forgive me for my sins but true repentance is putting action behind those words and not doing those things again.

One scripture says we have to deny our flesh daily and pick up our cross. It’s not about us. It’s about Jesus.

How do I know if I am living right?

Living right is more than just being nice to people. Romans says that you can not make it into heaven just by being good and nice to people. It’s more to that.

Are you reading your Bible? Praying? Studying? Spreading the gospel? Reading your Bible and studying are ways that I have grown closer to God. You say you want to go to heaven but you don’t have a relationship with him. Have you ever been somewhere new and didn’t know the people that would be there? You get this uncomfortable feeling like you’re out of place and not know what to expect. Well it’s the same thing with God and heaven. God created heaven for us to enjoy but in order to enjoy it and feel comfortable or like we belong there we first got to know and have that relationship with Jesus Christ.

God can come back at any time. If I read it correctly Jesus doesn’t even know the time or the day. When He returns it will be too late to get ourselves right with him. This message is not just for my followers and readers. It’s for me too. To remind myself to get back in my word and cut out all of my distractions. I want to be ready when Jesus comes back and I want to take as many people with me when he comes. I encourage you to do the same.
