Its Not About The Bunny..Its About The Cross

It’s Not About Easter… It’s About Resurrection Sunday

Sunday is called Easter… but to me, it is Resurrection Sunday.

The day that my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ gave His life—not just for me, but for all of us.

As I’ve been reading my Bible more, I’ve come to realize something deep in my heart…

we don’t deserve the love of Jesus.

And yet—He loves us anyway.

He loves us through our good and our bad.

He watches over us when we don’t even ask Him to.

He keeps us, protects us, and blesses us beyond what we even understand.

There aren’t enough words I could ever say to fully express the kind of love He has shown us.

We Didn’t Deserve Him… But He Came Anyway

If we’re being honest…

we didn’t deserve Jesus then, and we don’t deserve Him now.

We sin repeatedly.

We fall short.

Some people don’t repent.

Some don’t even believe that God is real.

But I know that there is a God.

I know He watches over me.

I know He protects me.

I know He has kept me when I didn’t even realize I needed keeping.

And knowing all of that… Jesus still chose the cross.

It Was Always About the Cross

Easter is not about the bunny.

It’s not about the eggs.

Honestly, I’m not even sure where the bunny came from.

But what I do know is this:

Sunday is about the day that Jesus died on the cross for our sins…

and then got up with all power in His hands.

It looked like the end when they placed Him in that tomb…

but early Sunday morning, the stone was rolled away.

That wasn’t just a moment—

that was victory.

What He Wants From Us

After everything He’s done… what does He ask from us?

He wants our yes.

Yes to His will.

Yes to His way.

He wants us to obey Him and keep His Word.

He wants us to tell our brothers and sisters about His goodness—about the love, grace, and mercy He gives so freely.

Not just on Resurrection Sunday… but every single day.

So while the world may celebrate Easter with baskets, outfits, and traditions…

I’ll celebrate Resurrection Sunday.

Because it’s not about what we wear.

It’s not about what we find in an egg.

It’s about Jesus the one who loved us when we didn’t deserve it, died for us anyway, and rose again so we could have life.

And if He gave His life for us…

the least we can do is give Him our yes. 🙏
